is there any way to check if an internet connection exits using , on a pc behind proxy (using VB) please help ..?:confused:

You can connected at secure IP. If there is an error you are not connected

coccio i dont understand what u meant could u make it clear..?
if u dont understand my question let me make it clear .. for eg. let's say the i know the ip number and the port number ..lets say ip: 192.168.0.1 & port 8080 and the server is using only HTTP protocol all others are blocked up ..so how could i check if there is a connection using the given ip,port & protocol...please somebody post me a solution?

Or you test the common port,8080 ... ecc
or you read the setting of default browser.
In the register there is a setting of proxy,here:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Internet Settings

what are u talking about Coccio i am asking you to tell me programatically how could i check internet connection when i am behind proxy....anyway anyone else interested please post me some code or an idea...?
