@G3N3RAL.WAST3, I've suggested that about 4 times in the admin section..., seems like nobody gives a shit.

So you guys are suggesting to fix the existing opensc before making new changes ?

ok heres my idea in order to help stop ripping we just do what HF and HH does and require people to make an account before seeing our shit, then we screen out the old 0 post accounts that we have on this site and we only let in people you can at least fill out a proper introduction that should stop like 90% of all the leecher and skids that come to this site.
I'm leaving the scene for a little while, cya in a couple of months, peace.
I'm looking for exploits/0-days/other stuff. PM mewhen I get back.
No. Kids will rip no matter what.
> Forcing registration is never a good option. The only bonus one gains by registering is the ability to contribute to this site as everything is open for the general public. I do remember in the past registration closed for a period of time and then reopened (when Ltt was here)
> Proper introduction is in order and those that don't follow the format should be left in limbo (or deleted)
> Deleting zero posters again is pointless since everything is open here.
The site almost went to an invite only type of deal...
Ok i just thought i would throw in my 2 cents, you make a good point.

I just thought I'd bring my 2c. I know, opinions are like assholes... but here goes.
You guys talk about bringing more people. In my opinion, that is bad. What you need is more quality.
I personally will help if I can someone who knows what he is asking, and has tried to achieve something.
But I will not tolerate skiddies who just want to rip, compile my code and use it to hack the universe, or just ask what the diff between C and C++ is.
And that is what you achieve by attracting more people, while at the same time push away the few good members that OpenSc had, who contributed
with code and good replies.
No sirs, in my opinion, you should make opensc more private. We are here to learn, and help others learn. Isn't that the point or not ?
I will ( and others probably ) help people who show that want to learn, by asking, showing interests and doing some work.
About the marketplace, to be honest I would love a place to sell some of my stuff, and make an extra buck. But we all know that once you go down the
making-a-profit road, you lose focus of opensc. Those two things don't do well together. Having said that, there already exist a marketplace in HF, in other sites
and last but not least in the silkroad. Even in freelancer you will find posts about malware. Which goes to show that there is a rising interest in the area.
So if you guys wanna setup an official malware marketplace, I'm game (really, designing, coding and financing ), but its an entirely different story.
Also, please, do not tolerate trolls and flamers! I know the admins here are doing all this awesome work on their own free time ( yeah baby, some serious asskissing here), but joking aside, those ppl ruin good posts.
If you really want to bring OpenSc to the frontpage ( which I insist, is NOT good for this "research area" ), you probably would need to either create many opensc projects (rat's, rootkits, etc), or form a hacker group / hacktivist group.
Also, another good idea might be to merge the source code and help forums into one, effectively sorted by language. Or you could create a library system ( like the one VXheavens have for virii ) for the sources, with no comments and stuff, and keep only the help sub-forums. But this would require some sort of checking for each submitted source.
Last but not least, I would like to see a virus section. OpenSc might benefit by adding a virus section, through new members who want to learn, and older folk who have alot to give.
So , yeah, I hear Hawaii is nice this time of the year...

as much as I agree with that statement not everyone does.
more private? no, opensc is "open source" is supposed to be free and open for all to enjoy. although being too public probably isn't good either.
do explain. (this place is like the mother of all virii :/ )

t0ns has a point , i guess we have to find a sweet spot for privacy and publicisy (dont know how to spell the damn word )
going too private will make us lose potencial members
going too public will make us like HF "Hay guys im so HQ i will rip your sources and call them mine" <- i hope that this shit never has a chance of happening down here
Ok, maybe I didn't put in the right context the point I was trying to make.
When I said more private, I didn't mean it in an elitist or "closed" way such as private forums.
I meant it in a more communal way, as in, being more involved.
Will you help any kid that comes and asks you questions, or would you rather see involvement, interest and effort ?
Personally, if I see someone trying and willing, I will spend time to help, even if I have little free time in my day.
Then you have the smartasses who think they know everything because they ripped a code or two, read a few tutorials
and decided to demand solutions, because they have 300 posts. I'm sorry, but I won't be helping this kind of person.
Or kids who show up and demand help to hacking their grandma's facebook account, or even worst, kids who do not know
the difference between C & C++ (yes I've heard that too), yet they want help setting up a Zeus botnet !!!
And if you, me or someone else needs help with something hard, I would like to know that there are experts out there who can help me too.
If however you keep attracting the skids and trolls, soon enough no real coders will be left around.
It's pretty clear that some are here to learn, some are here to help or kill time, bu most are here to "hack" (missing the actual point of hacking), and some are just to be plain annoying.
What the majority of the forum's users are, will define Opensc in general. It is that simple.
As far as virus section, I mean an actual virus section, not for bots, rat's, Trojans or key-loggers, but viruses or worms.
