Decided to post this since cracksman suggested it. I use IceCast broadcasting software on my server for my own personal radio and it works very well. If you guys want to use it, here's what you do.
Server Info
Server: joomscrap.net
Port: 8000
Mount: /stream.ogg (Change "stream" to whatever you'd like.)
Password: radio1223
Radio URL: http://joomscrap.net:8000
Windows
-Install Winamp
-Install ODDCast (It comes with certain instructions that you must follow.)
Run Winamp and configure ODDCast. (Options > Preferences > Plug-ins). Click on the "DSP/Effects" option, and then select Oddcast from the list of available plug-ins. Click on the "Config" option in Oddcast, and then click on the "Server" tab in the "Edit Config" menu that appears. Enter the above server details and you should be finished.
Linux
You can use many different types of players but I prefer Rhythmbox so I'm only going to write the guide for it. Make sure you have Rhythmbox installed then download shout2send. Extract the contents to the following directory.
If these directories do not exist, create them. Not that "~" represents your home directory.Code:~/.gnome2/rhythmbox/plugins
Once shout2send is installed, run Rythmbox then click "Edit > Plugins". Enable shout2send, click "Configure" on the right side, then enter the above server information. That's all.
To check if your stream is working, go to the web front of the radio. It'll be listed there. For listeners, share the link to your stream by sharing the M3U link for your stream. Listeners will need a media player that can support OGG Vorbis codecs and can play M3U playlist files (Winamp, MPD, VLC, etc.)
